Drakenskloof is designed for both rest and play — a place where families and friends can reconnect with each other and with nature. Guests can wander through indigenous fynbos gardens, enjoy a swim in the heated pool, or relax beside the wood-fired hot tub with views stretching into the mountains. India House
India House is one of two private villas on the exclusive-use Drakenskloof Homestead. Ideal for families or groups, the house includes three spacious en-suite bedrooms, an interleading children’s room, and generous indoor and outdoor living areas. The home is built around a central courtyard and features a large open-plan kitchen, a family-sized dining area, and two lounges — all designed for relaxed gathering.

The Master Suite includes a king-size bed and connects to a children’s room with two single beds — perfect for a family of four. The two additional suites can be configured with either king-size beds or twin beds, depending on your needs. Each en-suite bathroom features both indoor and outdoor showers, with the master suite also offering a freestanding bath overlooking the fynbos gardens.

High ceilings, sash windows, and timber floors create a light, airy atmosphere, while two fireplaces ensure comfort in cooler months. The house is fully equipped, family-friendly, and dog-welcoming — offering luxury without compromising on comfort or practicality.
Mapacha House
Mapacha House is the second private villa on the exclusive-use Drakenskloof Homestead. Designed for smaller groups or families, the house includes two en-suite bedrooms, each with private light-filled bathrooms and sweeping mountain views. Each room has a king-size bed, with the option of a single pull-out children’s bed available on request — accommodating up to 4 adults and 2 children.

Inspired by Swahili design, Mapacha combines elegant simplicity with comfort. The house features a well-equipped open-plan kitchen, indoor lounge and dining area, and sliding glass doors that open onto a covered veranda and a walled indigenous garden planted with fynbos and herbs. A standout feature is the wood-fired hot tub, tucked just beyond the original kraal wall, offering uninterrupted views into the mountain wilderness.

Mapacha (meaning “twins” in Swahili) is the sister house to India House. The raw concrete exterior is softened by curated touches, including an antique Swahili door sourced from Lamu, Kenya. The house offers privacy, comfort, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape — ideal for a peaceful mountain retreat.
